# Compare

> Line up 2–4 products from the same category on the same weekly data — performance, segments, citations, and on-page patterns — with signal tags that tell you what to act on.

Compare puts 2–4 products from the same category side by side, on the same weekly data behind the rankings — so you see not just who's ahead, but where the gap actually comes from. Where the [Dashboard](/docs/using/dashboard) auto-surfaces each week's movers, Compare is yours to build: you choose exactly which products to line up, whether or not your own brand is one of them.

To build a set, check the products on their [AI Ranking Chart](/docs/using/ai-ranking-chart) and click **Compare** in the tray at the bottom. Once on the comparison, swap products anytime with **+ Add product**.

## The four signals

Compare doesn't just show the numbers — every row is tagged with a signal status, so you know what to do with it:

| Signal | What it means | How to use it |
| :-------------- | :------------------------------------------- | :----------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Shared** | Common across the compared products | Your baseline: maintain coverage and avoid falling behind |
| **Competitive** | Actively contested across the set | A catch-up cue: benchmark the products that have it and close the gap |
| **Unique** | One product is standing alone on this signal | Inspect the source, page, or pattern behind it — learn from it or challenge it |
| **Opportunity** | None of the compared products show it yet | White space: evaluate whether moving first is worth it |

Each section has its own status filter — pick a signal to narrow the view to just the rows that match.

## The four views

* **Weekly Performance** — Rank, [DECA Score](/docs/metrics/deca-score), and [Mention Rate](/docs/metrics/mention-rate) side by side, with the leader in each row highlighted.
* **Segment Position** — each product's rank and mention rate in every buyer segment, color-coded, so you spot who's strong where — and the segments no one has locked down yet.
* **Off-Page Citations** \[Pro] — which external source types AI cites for each product, and whether each product appears in the category's citation sources, right down to the cited URLs.
* **On-Page GEO Patterns** \[Pro] — whether each product's most-cited pages carry the content, metadata, and technical signals AI tends to favor, signal by signal.
